Have you ever had someone do a portrait of you? How about as a couple? Or with the whole family? For me, I have to say, yes, yes, and yes!
I've learned that I've got to be chilled out and having fun when I'm having a portrait made. If not, then you can bet that it's gonna show when I look at that picture months and years down the line. The last thing that's going to help a portrait is to have a stuffy smile that's unnatural or over-posed. Or having a look about you that says, "What did my kid just spill on his shirt..." When you get down to what makes a photo great, it's about reality. And that's what I'm in search of when I photograph people.
I want to help you create a portrait, that when you look back on it years later, you're able to say, "Yep, that's really us." And "I remember what a great time that was." If I can help you say that, then we've done pretty good.
Part of accomplishing that is choosing a time and location that is suitable to how you want your images to look, and the other part is me helping you to chill out and have fun. I don't know about you, but if you think of a traditional studio where there's more equipment around you than an operating room, I find that a hard place to just be myself. Most of my clients feel the same way, so I do away with all that and take you to a beautiful outdoor location where you can relax and just be yourself while I create some amazing photography.
Your family is the most important thing in the world to you, right? Mine is to me! Check out those smiles right there! So I know you want photos that you'll treasure and hold close to your heart for the rest of your life, whatever your occasion.
I'm a Virginia Beach based photographer, but I like to travel, and I shoot families, couples, high school seniors, head shots, engagements and weddings. Contact me if you'd like to get more info about doing some photography together.
